Born Tia Camble R&B singer/songwriter Leeryck from St. Petersburg, Florida found sanctuary in her God given talent of singing, Leeryck got her start singing Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” at her pre-school graduation and even though she was singing with the entire class her voice was the one that everyone heard. They could not believe that such a big voice was coming from such a little person.
At the age of 13 she remembers watching Monica perform “Why I love you so much” on Apollo. She turned the television up as loud as it would go and sung along. Her mother yelled at her to turn it down which discouraged her because all she wanted to do was sing at the loudest volume. Little did she know her mother was simply recognizing her amazing talent, “I heard two voices, but I couldn’t tell the difference between the two…I needed for you to turn the music down so that I could see if that was really you sounding that good!” she said.
That moment sparked her confidence to begin to enter singing competitions including the famed Apollo Theater, in the summer of 1998 she joined a local group called C.I.A. which stood for Cuties In Action, predominately a dance group. They welcomed her as the frontline singer and began performing at celebrations, local clubs and different events around the city becoming celebrities in their own right.
Leeryck has since released her debut single entitled “Love’s Hangover” from the “Conundrum” album and shortly after hits like “Lunch Break” and “Another Sad Love Song”, to date Leeryck has several projects in the works simultaneously after the completion of her second album “What Feelings Sound Like”. Before the release Leeryck is focused on stretching the reach of her music and reconnecting with faithful fans. An EP is set to release Summer of 2021 entitled “From the Streetz 2 da Sheetz” which will reveal different sides of her talent while still giving you the soulful vocals you love.
